NewDays Desktop Application

NewDays Desktop Application is an innovative cross-platform digital solution designed specifically for the evolving demands of remote work environments, developed by designers Inn Sun Park and Yoyo Dong. This comprehensive desktop interface addresses the fundamental challenges of virtual team management by providing managers with sophisticated tools for maintaining team morale, performance monitoring, and new employee orientation. The application's architecture is built upon extensive research into contemporary workplace dynamics, particularly focusing on the communication gaps that emerged during the global pandemic. Its user interface incorporates advanced UX/UI principles, featuring a meticulously designed dashboard that centralizes critical management functions, including collaborative welcome cards, project timeline visualization, and resource management capabilities. The system's distinctive kudos feature facilitates informal recognition of team achievements, fostering a positive virtual work culture. Developed through multiple design iterations and rigorous user testing, the application employs sophisticated interaction design principles to simplify complex information hierarchies while maintaining functionality. The project, which commenced in September 2021, represents a significant advancement in workplace management software, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design category for its innovative approach to remote team coordination. The application's development process involved comprehensive research methodologies, including affinity diagrams, user interviews, and iterative prototyping, resulting in a solution that effectively bridges the gap between traditional office interactions and virtual collaboration requirements.
