New Century Resort Ningbo Shiqifang Hotel is a distinguished architectural renovation project situated in Xiepu, a coastal town within the Zhenhai District of Ningbo, China, representing a masterful blend of historical preservation and contemporary hospitality design. This remarkable establishment, spanning 50,000 square meters with 40,000 square meters of building area, encompasses six distinct guestroom sections housing 116 meticulously designed rooms, and stands as the largest intact ancient architectural complex from the Ming and Qing dynasties in China. The property's distinctive features include traditional Ma Tau wallwatts, Chinese courtyards, ancestral halls, opera stages, and historic stone alleys, all of which have been carefully preserved and enhanced through innovative lighting design. The lighting concept, developed by an expert design team and recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, emphasizes the interplay of light and shadow rather than uniform illumination, creating a sophisticated ambiance that respects the site's cultural heritage.
