Neoclassic Wellness Neoclassic Residence Reused

Neoclassic Wellness Neoclassic Residence Reused

Neoclassic Wellness Neoclassic residence reused is an exemplary architectural renovation project that masterfully transforms a historic neoclassical building in Kifisia into a contemporary wellness facility while preserving its distinctive architectural heritage. This sophisticated 700-square-meter adaptive reuse project, designed by architect Helen Brasinika, demonstrates an innovative approach to harmonizing historical elements with modern functionality. The design philosophy carefully balances the preservation of elaborate plaster decorations, antique oak wood flooring, and natural daylight characteristics with contemporary interventions, utilizing materials such as lavaplaster, laminated formicas, glass, and quartz mosaics to create a clear delineation between historical and modern elements. The color palette draws inspiration from dawn's early light, incorporating warm shaded greys, hazy greens, and red greys, departing from conventional wellness facility aesthetics while maintaining the building's neoclassical romanticism. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases exceptional technical innovation through the integration of IPE structural beams and the implementation of environmentally conscious materials, including VOC-free water-based wood varnishes and natural finishes. The design's sophisticated approach to spatial organization incorporates a glass-box reception area that reflects the historic interior, while the new section features black burnt metal and opaque glass elements that enhance the structural narrative while preserving the building's typological identity.
