This contemplative work captures the ethereal quality of nocturnal urban landscapes, specifically focusing on floating lights in the streets of Macao during the quiet hours after midnight. Through masterful manipulation of manual focus techniques during filming with a Canon 5DSR camera, the work achieves a dreamlike aesthetic that evokes profound nostalgia for Macao's transformation from a tranquil peninsula to a bustling metropolis. The piece, which runs for 4 minutes and 35 seconds, can be experienced either as a standalone video screening or as an immersive multimedia performance incorporating live dancers against a large LED panel backdrop. The work's artistic significance lies in its multilayered exploration of urban development, cultural identity, and existential reflection, enhanced by the original musical composition by Ólafur Arnalds.
