Natural Lighting Strategy

Natural Lighting Strategy is a method in interior design that uses the angle and placement of windows, skylights, and reflective surfaces to make the most of sunlight in a space. Designers can use light shelves, which are horizontal surfaces near windows, to bounce daylight deeper into a room, making spaces brighter without extra energy. The color of walls and ceilings matters too; lighter colors help spread sunlight further. Using glass with different levels of transparency can control how much light enters, helping to keep rooms comfortable and glare-free. Some designers use movable panels or blinds that change position during the day to direct sunlight where it is needed most.
