Natural Flavor Residence
Natural Flavor Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, that masterfully integrates natural elements with contemporary loft-style living. The 158-square-meter space encompasses a living room, dining room, kitchen, light bar, study room, three bedrooms, and two washrooms, designed by Ying Li Cheng to create a harmonious connection between indoor living and natural surroundings. The design's distinctive features include a 45-degree beveled approach that ingeniously resolves spatial constraints while maximizing storage efficiency, and an innovative ceiling treatment that transforms exposed pipeline infrastructure into an aesthetic element of the loft-style design. Natural materials, including engineered flooring, wood blocks, retro bricks, sawed veneer, and marble, are extensively utilized throughout the space to reinforce the connection with nature. The project's sophisticated spatial planning capitalizes on the property's advantageous location adjacent to a park, incorporating large openings that facilitate natural light penetration from three directions and maximize views of the surrounding landscape. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in combining functional practicality with aesthetic sophistication. The residence's open-plan configuration, featuring ceiling-height doors and cabinets, creates an expanded visual perspective while maintaining intimate connections between different functional areas, exemplifying a thoughtful balance between spaciousness and functionality.
