Natura Door Handle

Natura Door Handle

Natura Door Handle is an innovative architectural hardware design that reimagines the conventional door handle by incorporating natural stone elements into its contemporary aesthetic. This sophisticated door handle, designed by Bulent Unal in 2020, represents a harmonious fusion of functionality and artistic expression, featuring a rubber-coated metal construction with a distinctive circular opening designed to house decorative natural stone inserts. The handle's dimensions of 180mm width by 55mm depth, with a center height of 1100mm from the floor, adhere to ergonomic standards while offering a unique customization opportunity through interchangeable stone elements. The design philosophy behind this handle stems from the concept of elevating everyday architectural elements into jewelry-like focal points within interior spaces, transforming the transitional nature of doorways into opportunities for artistic expression. The handle's surface incorporates textured rubber coating for enhanced grip, while its modular design allows users to personalize their space by selecting and installing their preferred natural stone insert. This innovative approach to door handle design, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Accessories, Hardware and Materials Design category, demonstrates a thoughtful integration of practical functionality with aesthetic customization, challenging traditional perspectives on architectural hardware by treating it as an integral component of interior design rather than merely a utilitarian element. The design's emphasis on natural materials and personalization reflects contemporary trends in sustainable and user-centric design, while its technical specifications ensure durability and reliable performance in daily use.
