National Trade Center Office
National Trade Center Office is a distinguished architectural masterpiece located in Taichung, Taiwan, standing as a 165-meter tall commercial structure that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of cultural symbolism and modern sustainable design. The building's iconic silhouette draws inspiration from the bamboo shoot, a plant indigenous to Taichung that represents prosperity in Chinese cultural traditions, while ingeniously addressing urban planning requirements through its graduated setback design as the tower ascends. The structure features an innovative elliptical form that maximizes natural light penetration into the office spaces, complemented by a sophisticated faceted façade system incorporating horizontal awnings and distinctive rain covers. The building's sustainable design elements include vertical greening with local plant species on the east and west façades, rooftop gardens, solar panels, and windmills, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to environmental responsibility. Constructed between December 2015 and February 2018, the building employs a mixed steel-concrete structural system designed to withstand rigorous climate conditions, including typhoons, while offering flexible floor plates ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 square meters.
