N.Born Interior Design
N.Born Interior Design is an award-winning interior architectural project located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, exemplifying a sophisticated fusion of industrial aesthetics and functional spatial design across three floors, each spanning approximately 720 square feet. The design, conceptualized and executed by Cherry Chiu and the design team, demonstrates a masterful approach to contemporary salon interior architecture by incorporating raw, industrial elements such as low-quality wood, polished concrete, rusted iron, and exposed brick walls to create an atmosphere that balances vintage charm with modern functionality. The project's most distinctive feature is its theatrical first-floor design, inspired by backstage makeup lounges, featuring a custom-made oversized luminous mirror that spans from floor to ceiling, creating a dramatic VIP lounge atmosphere. A repurposed vintage Vespa scooter at the entrance serves as both a decorative element and a thematic anchor, while a transformed antique wheel, suspended from the ceiling as a lighting fixture, reinforces the space's industrial character. The design's vertical distribution of functions demonstrates careful consideration of spatial efficiency, with the first floor dedicated to VIP services and reception, while the second and third floors accommodate general salon services. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category showcases exceptional spatial planning that maintains consistent design language throughout while adapting to different functional requirements on each level. The design's success lies in its ability to create an immersive environment that transcends the traditional salon experience, incorporating thoughtful details and custom-designed furniture that harmoniously blend industrial aesthetics with practical functionality.
