MYBath Bathroom Cabinet
MYBath Bathroom Cabinet is an innovative bathroom furniture design that revolutionizes the traditional bathroom cabinet concept by incorporating inclusive design principles to accommodate users of all ages, particularly children. This thoughtfully engineered cabinet system, designed by Professor Kemal Yıldırım, features a distinctive movable step mechanism that can be securely locked beneath the cabinet, enabling children to safely access the washbasin and mirror. The design's exceptional functionality is enhanced by an integrated handle on the counter, providing additional stability and security for younger users. The cabinet's sophisticated construction utilizes lacquered and melamine-coated Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF), selected for its durability and environmental sustainability through its recyclable properties. A notable feature of this design is its three-angled mirror configuration, which offers optimal visibility for users of varying heights, while the modular construction, comprising six primary components assembled with minifix connection elements, ensures structural integrity and ease of installation. The cabinet's comprehensive storage solutions are complemented by its ergonomic considerations, making it particularly suitable for family environments. This innovative approach to bathroom furniture design earned recognition through the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2016, acknowledging its contribution to improving everyday living spaces through thoughtful, user-centered design principles. The project, initiated in June 2015 in Ankara, Turkey, represents a significant advancement in bathroom furniture design by addressing the often-overlooked needs of younger users while maintaining functionality for adults, effectively creating a solution that serves users from ages seven to seventy.
