My Boundary Residence

My Boundary Residence

My Boundary Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in October 2020 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, distinguished by its innovative approach to modern living spaces and sustainable design principles. The 69.42-square-meter property, designed by Yi-Yun Chang, masterfully integrates functionality with aesthetic excellence through precise spatial planning and thoughtful material selection. The design's distinctive features include a semi-circular decoration in the master room that creates visual dynamism and spatial expansion, while the strategic use of glass block walls in the study area facilitates natural light transmission, creating an ever-changing interplay of light and shadow throughout the interior spaces. The project demonstrates exceptional attention to environmental consciousness through its material choices, incorporating high-temperature carbonized plywood and wooden beams that eliminate the need for formaldehyde removal products, recyclable stone-like wall tiles made from PP foam, and environmentally friendly glass block walls with eco-conscious coatings. The television wall features innovative titanium strip detailing, adding sophisticated layering and textural depth to the space. The design's commitment to sustainability extends to its mechanical systems, featuring energy-efficient air conditioning to reduce carbon emissions. This residential project, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how contemporary interior design can successfully balance luxury aesthetics with environmental responsibility, creating a living space that responds to both human needs and ecological concerns while maintaining high standards of modern design excellence.
