MUZE Design Residential

MUZE Design Residential

MUZE Design Residential is an award-winning interior architectural project completed in 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan, distinguished by its innovative approach to spatial design and lighting integration. The residential space, spanning 170 meters in width, 103 meters in depth, and 3.1 meters in height, showcases a masterful interplay of light and shadow through carefully crafted ceiling designs and material selections. The project's signature aesthetic is characterized by its sophisticated use of curved ceiling elements that create dynamic visual expressions, embodying principles of openness and freedom throughout the space. The design philosophy emphasizes modern dialogue through the thoughtful implementation of various materials including marble, antique mirror, veneer, and titanium metal, which work in concert to create distinct visual layers and dimensional depth. A notable feature is the book corner in the entrance area, which exemplifies the project's commitment to functional aesthetics. The main living room wall serves as a focal point, where lighting techniques and material transitions orchestrate a sophisticated visual narrative. The design, created by Peter Cheng and Sam Tsai, demonstrates particular innovation in its treatment of structural elements, such as the transformation of large beams into curved features that enhance the space's humanistic atmosphere. The project received recognition from the A' Design Award competition, earning an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial innovation and material application. The design's success lies in its ability to create a harmonious balance between practical functionality and aesthetic sophistication, while maintaining a strong focus on creating an orderly atmosphere through modern design dialogue.
