Music House Residential House is an innovative architectural masterpiece designed by Indonesian architect Tonny Wirawan Suriadjaja that harmoniously integrates musical concepts into residential architecture. Located in Alam Sutera, South Tangerang, Indonesia, this 420-square-meter residence embodies the fluidity and progression of musical tones through its distinctive architectural composition. The design concept revolves around the continuity and harmony of musical strains, manifested through a seamless transformation of basic forms that creates fluid connectivity between the first and second floors. The building's mass strategically rises from front to back, metaphorically representing the progression from low to high musical tones, while the facade ingeniously incorporates dual elements - solid and semi-transparent surfaces - symbolizing different vocal weights in music. The solid elements, constructed primarily of concrete, represent deeper tones like tenor, baritone, and bass, while semi-transparent elements utilizing glass and concrete grills embody higher soprano tones. The structure's innovative use of concrete enables the creation of a simple yet sophisticated trapezoid roof that gradually inclines between floors, reinforcing the building's fluid aesthetic. The interior design thoughtfully accommodates the needs of a musician family, featuring spaces for instrument playing, recitals, and rehearsals, with a uniquely designed staircase that doubles as an art display area and social interaction space. This architectural achievement, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional integration of artistic concept with functional residential design, showcasing innovative space utilization while maintaining strong cultural and artistic sensitivity.
