Multifocal Spectacle Lenses

Multifocal spectacle lenses, also known as progressive lenses, are a type of corrective eyewear that are designed to correct multiple vision problems at once. Unlike traditional bifocal lenses, which have a visible line separating the distance and near prescriptions, multifocal lenses have a gradual transition between different prescriptions, allowing for a more natural and seamless visual experience. These lenses are typically prescribed for individuals who suffer from presbyopia, a common age-related condition that causes a loss of near vision. Multifocal lenses are also effective for individuals who have both nearsightedness and farsightedness, as well as those who have astigmatism. Multifocal lenses work by using a combination of different prescriptions to provide clear vision at all distances. The top portion of the lens is designed for distance vision, while the bottom portion is designed for near vision. The middle portion of the lens provides a gradual transition between the two prescriptions, allowing for clear vision at all distances. While multifocal lenses can take some time to adjust to, many individuals find them to be a convenient and effective solution for their vision problems. They eliminate the need for multiple pairs of glasses or switching between glasses and contacts throughout the day.
