Multicolor Sky Interior Design

Multicolor Sky Interior Design

Multicolor Sky Interior Design is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies contemporary living spaces through its sophisticated use of color gradients and spatial planning. Located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, this 86-square-meter apartment transformation, designed by Yi-Lun Hsu and Chiung-Fang Kang, demonstrates exceptional mastery in creating fluid, multifunctional spaces that harmoniously blend public and private areas. The design's cornerstone is its central kitchen island, which serves as the focal point of family life, seamlessly connecting the living room and study area. The project's distinctive feature is its carefully curated color palette, dominated by cyan with subtle gradient transitions incorporating pink elements, reflecting a sophisticated understanding of color psychology and environmental harmony. The space optimization strategy includes non-physical partitions utilizing floor treatments, low walls, and custom grilles, creating distinct zones while maintaining visual continuity. Notable design elements include a gradient wallpaper transitioning from pink to cyan in the living room, complemented by a matching entrance grille, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and color harmony. The project, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases innovative solutions such as a projector-based entertainment system replacing traditional TV walls, built-in storage solutions, and a cleverly angled study desk with a hidden dressing table. The design philosophy emphasizes transparency and connectivity while maintaining functional independence of different areas, creating an environment that encourages family interaction while preserving individual space requirements.
