Mubic Modular Table

Mubic Modular Table

Mubic Modular Table is an innovative furniture design solution that exemplifies versatile space optimization through its transformative capabilities, created by Romanian designer Katalin Brigitta Csiki. This sophisticated piece of furniture demonstrates exceptional adaptability by offering four distinct configurations: a coffee table and three dining table arrangements accommodating two, four, or six persons, all achieved through an ingenious rotating leg mechanism that eliminates the need for disassembly. The table's construction features premium-grade spruce wood for its top surface, complemented by high-durability hinges and electrostatically painted legs that ensure long-lasting finish retention. Its dimensional versatility ranges from a compact coffee table configuration at 40cm height x 81.4cm width x 75cm depth to an expanded six-person dining table measuring 71cm height x 145cm width x 75cm depth. The design's innovative transformation mechanism, which requires synchronized operation by two people, represents a significant advancement in modular furniture design, particularly addressing the spatial constraints of contemporary urban living. Distinguished by its clean aesthetic and functional ingenuity, the Mubic Modular Table earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its contribution to innovative residential furniture solutions. The design's development involved extensive research into modular table mechanisms, resulting in a unique approach that differentiates it from conventional expandable tables through its seamless transformation process.
