Movable Bookhouse Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that reimagines living spaces through the integration of bookstore-inspired elements, specifically designed to create a harmonious environment for both children and adults. This thoughtfully conceived 220-square-meter apartment, located in Zhubei City, represents a sophisticated approach to modern family living, where spatial layout and carefully selected color schemes work in concert to encourage family togetherness and intellectual growth. The design's cornerstone features two symmetrical wooden bookshelves that provide both aesthetic appeal and functional storage, while simultaneously creating a sense of stability within the open, organic public spaces. The project, completed in October 2018, addresses contemporary challenges such as declining birth rates in Taiwan by prioritizing spaces that facilitate meaningful family interactions and peer engagement. Notable design elements include double sound insulation for peaceful coexistence with neighbors, strategically placed storage solutions, and an innovative circular route connecting the kitchen and dining areas. The interior employs a refined material palette of concrete and marble textures in gray and white layers, complemented by wooden tones and subtle mauve accents, creating a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. This design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how thoughtful spatial planning can support both creativity and stability while maintaining a perfect balance between order and flexibility.
