Moss Stamp
Moss Stamp is an innovative environmental restoration device designed to combat the devastating effects of forest fires through the strategic deployment of moss cultivation and distribution. This sophisticated tool, developed in 2022-2023, combines ecological preservation with user engagement by enabling volunteers and hikers to participate actively in forest rehabilitation. The device consists of two primary components: a portable stamp mechanism measuring 55 x 55 x 264mm when closed (extending to 753mm when fully opened) and a dedicated moss incubation room sized at 940 x 940 x 1780mm. The stamp features a distinctive spiral outlet design that mirrors the natural expansion patterns of moss growth, facilitating optimal distribution across damaged terrain. With a capacity to hold 150ml of moss solution, the stamp incorporates an innovative discharge mechanism specifically engineered to handle moss rather than liquid substrates. The system's ecological significance lies in moss's natural ability to prevent desertification by capturing fog and dew while maintaining soil moisture levels, thereby creating favorable conditions for tree root development and accelerating forest recovery. The incubation room component provides a controlled environment for moss cultivation, equipped with specialized systems for spore injection and nutrient solution distribution. This groundbreaking design, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design category, represents a significant advancement in environmental conservation technology, offering a practical solution for ecosystem restoration while promoting public participation in environmental stewardship.
