Moore Face Salon Studio Face Salon Studio is an innovative interior design project completed in Taipei in 2016, exemplifying a thoughtful approach to creating a welcoming and anxiety-reducing beauty salon environment. The design successfully transforms a commercial space into a domestic-style facial salon, addressing the common client anxiety associated with beauty procedures through careful spatial planning and material selection. The 6000mm x 8250mm x 3600mm space features a sophisticated integration of activity and folding doors that cleverly connect the working area with the reception, effectively balancing privacy requirements with spatial openness. The interior design draws inspiration from eyebrow embroidery techniques, incorporating distinctive dots and lines throughout the aesthetic elements, creating a visual narrative that reflects the salon's primary service. The space utilizes a combination of epoxy, wood, and stainless steel materials, with both horizontal and diagonal steel bars symbolically representing various eyebrow embroidery techniques including dot, across, erect, hook, lift, slant, and wave patterns. A notable feature is the implementation of universal rail doors that enable the space to function both as a service area and a makeup classroom. The design demonstrates exceptional consideration for technical requirements, incorporating embedded mirrors and carefully planned lighting to ensure optimal working conditions for eyebrow embroidery technicians. This thoughtful approach to interior design earned the project a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, recognizing its innovative solution to creating a peaceful, home-like atmosphere within budget constraints while maintaining professional functionality.
