This innovative fireplace structure, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design category, features a distinctive circular design with a 5-meter diameter and a unique convex ceiling that enhances acoustic properties for traditional Pipa music performances. The design seamlessly integrates local craftsmanship with modern architectural elements, utilizing a combination of stone foundation, brick walls finished with straw and clay plaster, and CNC-cut timber roof structure. The structure's thoughtful design accommodates up to 25 people and includes a multifunctional entry chamber serving as a changing room, food preparation area, and confession space. As part of a broader cultural regeneration initiative, this architectural intervention aims to preserve and revitalize Dong cultural practices while addressing rural-urban migration challenges.
