Monet Garden Interior Design
Monet Garden Interior Design is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates countryside aesthetics with new classical fashion elements, completed in 2018 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. This 112-square-meter space draws profound inspiration from Claude Monet's artistic vision, translating the ethereal beauty of his garden paintings into a tangible living environment. The design, conceived by Szu-Wen Wang and Chung-Ting Wang, showcases an innovative approach to contemporary rural styling through its sophisticated integration of Spanish-style red tiles, blue-and-white brick accents, and classical architectural elements. The interior features distinctive white woodwork complemented by modest color palettes, creating a refreshing and harmonious atmosphere. Notable design elements include large white cabinets in the kitchen paired with Spanish-style floor bricks, while the main bedroom incorporates delicate classical-style tiles in elegant grey-blue tones. The living area demonstrates particular attention to detail with its wooden floors adorned with palm-motif carpets, beige couches enhanced by vibrant throw pillows, and walls featuring carefully selected artwork including Peony and Muller's barbet paintings. The designers thoughtfully adapted Western rural style elements for Asian contexts, notably replacing the traditional fireplace with a contemporary TV wall while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the countryside theme. This project, which earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies how cultural fusion and artistic inspiration can create sophisticated living spaces that balance comfort with aesthetic excellence.
