Modern Hunting Lodge Resort
Modern Hunting Lodge Resort is an innovative architectural and interior design concept that reimagines traditional hunting lodges through a contemporary lens, seamlessly integrating modern comfort with natural wilderness experiences. This award-winning design, created by Shun-Chih Chen, features a sophisticated three-tiered spatial arrangement incorporating treehouse elements inspired by the baumraum urban treehouse in Berlin. The complex comprises three distinct zones: a riverside treehouse area offering solitude and contemplation, a communal residence section for social interaction, and a multipurpose assembly hall for dining and conferences. The design's architectural ingenuity is evident in its structural composition, featuring a Garden Room on the ground floor constructed with reinforced and air-faced concrete, while the upper levels are supported by six cylindrical pillars elevating a 12-square-meter tree box between the second and third floors. The project's innovative approach to outdoor-indoor living is demonstrated through thoughtful solutions to environmental challenges, including strategic placement of canopies and sclerophyllous forests for natural privacy barriers. The aesthetic elements incorporate Northern European furniture styles, obsidian and carbonized cork pathways arranged at 30-degree angles, and raw cement walls combined with wood finishes to maintain natural authenticity. This exceptional design, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully creates an immersive environment where modern luxury meets wilderness, featuring unique elements such as outdoor bathing areas and carefully curated pathways that mirror leaf venation patterns, leading guests to discover scenic vistas incorporating water and woodland elements.
