Miohca Entertainment Space

Miohca Entertainment Space is an innovative entertainment venue that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Art Deco aesthetics with contemporary design sensibilities, completed in 2018 in Tianjin, China. This expansive 2,000-square-meter establishment, designed by Lin Xu, represents a thoughtful reinterpretation of 20th-century artistic elements, creating a space where traditional and modern elements coexist in perfect balance. The design philosophy centers on the concept of creating the old, allowing for the reincarnation of classical elements within a modern context. The space features striking architectural elements, including symmetrical patterns, bold geometric lines, and dramatic color contrasts that pay homage to the Art Deco movement while introducing contemporary innovations. Notable design elements include the impressive lobby's hairline-pattern stainless steel feather wings, which create a visually impactful entrance experience, complemented by sophisticated lighting fixtures that bridge traditional and modern aesthetics. The interior palette combines rich purple tones, suggesting luxury and fashion-forward thinking, with deep black foundations that establish a mysterious ambiance. The space utilizes premium materials including gold coast marble, black bread brick, and light guide plates, all carefully selected to enhance the sensory experience. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully addresses the complex safety requirements of its shopping mall location while creating an atmosphere that seamlessly blends opposing elements - from domineering to gentle, low-key to luxurious - into a cohesive whole.
