Metal Corner Tapes
Metal corner tapes are a type of construction material used to reinforce the corners of drywall or plasterboard walls. These tapes are made of thin strips of metal, typically aluminum, that are designed to be embedded into the joint compound used to cover the seams between drywall panels. Once installed, metal corner tapes provide extra strength and durability to the corners of walls, which are often vulnerable to cracking and damage over time. Metal corner tapes come in various sizes and shapes to accommodate different wall thicknesses and corner angles. Some tapes are straight and designed for use on 90-degree corners, while others are flexible and can be bent to fit corners with different angles. In addition to aluminum, metal corner tapes can also be made from other materials such as galvanized steel or vinyl. Installation of metal corner tapes involves applying a layer of joint compound to the corner of the wall, pressing the tape into the compound, and then applying another layer of compound over the tape to embed it fully. The tape is then sanded smooth and painted to match the surrounding wall.
