Memory Of Purple Residential House

Memory Of Purple Residential House

Memory of Purple Residential House is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates indoor and outdoor environments within a 79-square-meter space, distinguished by its innovative approach to contemporary living. Located in New Taipei City, Taiwan, this sophisticated dwelling, completed in June 2018, represents a harmonious blend of Nordic aesthetics and functional design, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The design, conceived by Chun-Chih Chang and Jung-Chen Hsieh, notably departs from conventional residential layouts by replacing the traditional television-centered living room with a distinctive copper wall-mounted shelf system, creating a unique focal point that showcases personal artifacts and travel memorabilia. The space demonstrates exceptional attention to material integration, combining wood and vintage bronze elements to create varying effects of warmth and color throughout the interior. The public areas are thoughtfully segmented into living, dining, and study zones through strategic furniture placement, while a clear glass partition delineates the kitchen space, featuring elementary yet functional wall closets and iron shelves. The design's distinctive characteristics include its sophisticated use of pink violet tones, exposed track lighting, and the intentional incorporation of indoor plants that work in concert with natural elements filtering through wood blinds, creating a biophilic environment that promotes wellbeing. The long desk positioned behind the sofa cleverly defines a study area, complemented by a window seat that enhances the space's laid-back atmosphere, while the dining area showcases elegant simplicity through plain wood furniture and delicate metal ceiling fixtures.
