Mellow Refined Residence House

Mellow Refined Residence House

Mellow Refined Residence House is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully combines Japanese minimalism with Nordic design sensibilities, completed in June 2021 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. This 165-square-meter residence, designed by Yu Chun Cheng, showcases a sophisticated interpretation of contemporary living spaces through its thoughtful integration of milk-tea colored elements and sustainable materials. The design's distinctive features include a statement wall finished in intellectual light gray, complemented by light-veined cabinetry and flooring that creates a harmonious visual balance between presence and void. The interior architecture demonstrates exceptional attention to functionality and aesthetics, incorporating wooden-veined grilles at the entryway that seamlessly connect with marble-veined wooden flooring, establishing a refined visual continuity throughout the common areas. Notable environmental considerations are evident in the extensive use of toxin-free green materials, particularly the implementation of Lotos cement on the main wall, selected for its superior moisture absorption and air permeability properties. The residence's design excellence was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to spatial organization, sustainable practices, and user-centered design solutions. The project's sophisticated storage solutions, tailored to a family of four, include thoughtfully integrated cabinetry systems throughout various spaces, while the children's rooms feature ergonomically designed storage elements and upholstered nooks that prioritize safety and comfort. The common areas exemplify the design's cohesive vision through the harmonious blend of milk-tea tones and gray colors, enhanced by light-shade wooden elements and strategic lighting solutions that create a naturally warm and inviting atmosphere.
