Meland Meilin Game Centre
Meland Meilin Game Centre is an innovative interior space design project that reimagines entertainment facilities through a compelling science fiction narrative, completed in 2016 in Shenzhen, China. The design concept transforms the conventional gaming environment into an immersive futuristic spaceship experience, featuring sophisticated hexagonal patterns and architectural elements that evoke a sense of interstellar travel. The interior architecture employs a carefully curated color palette of blues, purples, and whites, complemented by strategic LED lighting systems that simulate the vast expanse of space. The facility's distinctive features include a beehive-shaped ceiling structure with integrated purple and white LED lighting that mimics skylights in a spaceship, while the exposed black ceiling areas represent the infinite cosmos. The entrance is characterized by hexagonal patterned metal features with high-gloss paint finishes, creating a portal-like threshold that immediately transports visitors into a futuristic realm. The service counter area showcases a modern interpretation of a futuristic cityscape, enhanced by LED strip lighting and complementary wall treatments. The flooring utilizes hexagonal patterned ceramic tiles in blue and grey tones, while structural columns are transformed into illuminated spaceship turbine engine elements through innovative use of aluminum and stainless steel covers with integrated LED light troughs. This exceptional design, which garnered a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, demonstrates a masterful integration of thematic elements, functional requirements, and atmospheric lighting to create a cohesive and engaging entertainment space that pushes the boundaries of conventional interior design.
