Mean Lumen Output
Mean Lumen Output (MLO) is a measurement of the total amount of visible light emitted from a light source. It is used in architecture to determine the amount of illumination being produced by a particular lighting system. MLO is calculated by taking the total light output from a source and dividing it by the number of lumens (lm) produced. This calculation is used to determine the total light output of a given lighting installation, which is then compared to the required illumination for a given area.
