Mays Restaurant Eating House is an innovative vegetarian-focused Western restaurant located in the CBD area of Zhujiang New Town, distinguished by its groundbreaking biophilic design approach that seamlessly integrates natural elements with contemporary architectural features. This 280-square-meter establishment, completed in April 2019, represents a significant advancement in restaurant interior design through its sophisticated interpretation of organic forms, particularly evident in its unique structural elements inspired by plant morphology. The design, conceived by Yong Ming He, transforms the conventional dining experience by abstracting and reimagining natural elements such as roots, branches, and leaves into modern design symbols, creating an immersive walking in the woods atmosphere. The space features a thoughtfully orchestrated progression from an open dining area through to more intimate settings, incorporating materials such as imitation wood tiles, fireproof plates, and stainless steel to achieve its distinctive aesthetic. A notable design element includes a ribbon-line water bar area with stainless steel components that create an abstract representation of rolling clouds and flowing water, while the independent dining section showcases an intricate network of criss-crossing stainless steel elements symbolizing organic growth patterns.
