Master Ji Gong Movie Poster
Master Ji Gong Movie Poster is a distinguished cinematic promotional artwork created for a 2021 Chinese animated fantasy adventure film, exemplifying a masterful fusion of traditional Chinese artistry with contemporary digital techniques. The poster, measuring 750 mm x 1050 mm, draws profound inspiration from Qing Dynasty poet Zhao Zhixin's philosophical perspective on dragons, incorporating sophisticated Chinese ink techniques to capture the ethereal relationship between a monk and a dragon. The design features a central figure of a monk adorned in a red kasaya (traditional Buddhist robe) holding a palm-leaf fan, rendered through advanced CINEMA 4D software, while maintaining the delicate balance between digital precision and traditional aesthetics. The artistic execution involved extensive experimentation with ink applications on various materials including rice paper, hard paper, and cloth, achieving a natural fluidity that enhances the poster's mysterious oriental ambiance. This innovative approach to poster design, which garnered a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, demonstrates exceptional technical prowess in combining 3D modeling, traditional ink painting, and digital composition through Photoshop. The project, completed between April and June 2019, represents a significant achievement in contemporary Chinese visual communication, successfully bridging ancient cultural elements with modern design sensibilities while maintaining the poetic and mysterious atmosphere essential to the film's narrative.
