Mastech Dongguan Office
Mastech Dongguan Office is an innovative workplace design project located in Dongguan city, Guangdong Province, China, that revolutionizes traditional office paradigms by seamlessly integrating leisure activities and professional spaces. Completed in April 2019, this 2,255-square-meter office space, designed by Li-Yu Cheng and Yu-Chen Chen, exemplifies a sophisticated blend of industrial loft aesthetics and contemporary workplace solutions. The design philosophy centers on creating an open-plan environment that accommodates high-density usage while facilitating multiple business interactions through non-standard spatial arrangements. The interior architecture notably features a distinctive first-floor reception area compartmentalized through strategic flooring plans, offering varied orientations that enhance privacy during business discussions. A defining characteristic of the fourth floor is its innovative integration of a loop-shaped artificial turf running track that encircles the core office area, fostering connectivity between divisions and promoting physical activity within the workplace. The material palette predominantly consists of steel, glass, and marble, chosen to reflect precision and professionalism while maintaining a contemporary industrial aesthetic. The design's unique approach to meeting spaces disperses various discussion areas throughout the facility, transforming traditional conference rooms into dynamic interaction zones. This progressive office design, which received the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020, successfully combines accuracy, precision, and reliability with a relaxed atmosphere, effectively transforming a formal office environment into an engaging, multifunctional space that promotes both productivity and well-being.
