Massimo Banzi is an Italian engineer, educator, and entrepreneur who is best known as the co-founder of Arduino, an open-source electronics platform that has revolutionized the world of DIY electronics. Born in Turin in 1965, Banzi studied at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea in the late 1990s, where he met his future Arduino co-founders. Banzi's contributions to the world of electronics extend far beyond Arduino, however. He has been involved in numerous projects related to physical computing, robotics, and interactive installations, and has taught courses and workshops on these topics around the world. He is also a strong advocate for open-source hardware and software, believing that technology should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or expertise. In addition to his work in electronics, Banzi is also a prolific writer and speaker, and has given talks at conferences and events around the world. He has been recognized with numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field of technology, including being named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2013.
