Mansions Design Inn Hotel

Mansions Design Inn Hotel

Mansions Design Inn Hotel is an innovative hospitality design project located in Guanyinqiao Commercial Street, Chongqing, that masterfully reimagines industrial aesthetics within a contemporary hotel setting. Designed by Chao Wen and Weiwei Zeng, this 800-square-meter establishment, completed in 2019, demonstrates exceptional spatial optimization through its distinctive two-floor configuration. The design philosophy embraces the modern factory theme as a response to Chongqing's urban evolution, incorporating repurposed industrial elements while maintaining comfort and functionality. The ground floor serves as a public space featuring a living room, facilities, and storage areas, while the second floor prioritizes guest comfort through thoughtfully designed living spaces. A defining characteristic of the project is its innovative treatment of staircases, which have been reimagined as central visual elements in each room, effectively addressing the challenges posed by the narrow, elongated space. The design successfully balances industrial aesthetics with warmth through strategic use of lighting, carpeting, and dark red art paint, creating a sophisticated spatial hierarchy. The project, which garnered recognition with a Gold A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, showcases exceptional attention to practical amenities, including dual-bathroom configurations in larger rooms and specialized areas for clothing storage. The design's response to the constraints of a high-rise structure while maintaining visual independence and experiential cohesion demonstrates remarkable architectural ingenuity, establishing a new paradigm in boutique hotel design that resonates with contemporary urban sensibilities.
