Manhattan Gleam Residence
Manhattan Gleam Residence is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies contemporary urban living through its sophisticated interpretation of American metropolitan style. Located in Taipei, Taiwan, this bachelor residence masterfully combines modern aesthetics with neoclassical elements, created by designers I-Ju Chan and Hsuan-Yi Chen. The space is characterized by its innovative open-plan layout that seamlessly integrates the living room, dining hall, and kitchen areas, emphasizing spatial fluidity and natural light flow. Distinguished by its sophisticated gray tonality and multi-grind flooring system, the residence creates a seamless, spacious ambience that reflects urban sophistication. The design's notable features include a strategically rotated 3-meter-long timber kitchen bar, vintage American leather furnishings complemented by distinctive king and queen chairs, and a custom-designed 100-inch projection screen entertainment area. The master bedroom incorporates a suspended television wall and specialized ceiling design to address architectural challenges while maintaining visual permeability. The project, completed in January 2017, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, including German-imported floor riser technology and thoughtfully integrated grille systems for the terraces. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning, material innovation, and contemporary lifestyle integration. The residence successfully balances private and social spaces, incorporating both intimate areas for personal retreat and open zones for entertainment, effectively capturing the essence of sophisticated metropolitan living while maintaining functionality and aesthetic harmony.
