MANGMEE Purse is an innovative fashion accessory that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Yao ethnic craftsmanship with contemporary design aesthetics, created as part of an Autumn/Winter Collection that pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of the Yao people, who have resided in northern Laos since the 15th century. This distinguished accessory, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Fashion and Travel Accessories Design category, showcases exceptional artisanal techniques including traditional embroidery by Yao women artisans and indigo dyeing processes. The purse's dimensions of 360mm x 40mm x 270mm are thoughtfully conceived to maintain both functionality and aesthetic appeal, while its construction features hand-sewn Yao ethnic patterns complemented by distinctive 92.5% silver ornamental elements. The design process, spanning from September 2017 to October 2019, required extensive collaboration with ethnic artisans and overcame significant challenges in material selection and production coordination, ultimately resulting in a sophisticated accessory that serves as a bridge between ancient cultural traditions and modern fashion sensibilities.
