Maidan Table Table
maidan table Table is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of industrial production methods with versatile color combinations. Created by Ukrainian designer Viktor Kovtun in collaboration with Yuriy Kovtun in 2014, this distinctive table design draws inspiration from insect morphology, featuring a curved central element that connects to four legs - two with curved profiles and two with angular connections. The table's sophisticated construction allows for manufacturing flexibility, with the connecting element adaptable to plywood, plastic, or metal materials, while the tabletop can be crafted from glass, plywood, or plastic. A notable feature of this design is its modular assembly system, utilizing simple furniture connectors that facilitate easy dismantling for transportation and installation. The table's dimensions of 1200mm in length, 730mm in width, and 750mm in height make it ideal for accommodating four users in both office and residential settings. The design's structural integrity is enhanced through the use of steel tubes for the legs, ensuring stability and user comfort. This innovative furniture piece, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a successful marriage of eco-conscious design principles with practical functionality, demonstrated through its efficient material usage and abstract bug-inspired aesthetic. The table's versatility is further emphasized by its adaptable color schemes and its ability to serve multiple environments while maintaining its distinctive insect-like appearance, where the legs evoke tarsus structures and the central connection point resembles an insect head.
