Magna Carta Anniversary Playing Card Set Playing Cards

Magna Carta Anniversary Playing Card Set Playing Cards

Magna Carta Anniversary Playing Card Set Playing Cards is a meticulously crafted limited edition playing card collection that commemorates the 800th anniversary of the historic Magna Carta document, distinguished by its innovative black and white deck series that explores the dynamic tension between Royals and Rebels. Designed by Alexander Chin, this Silver A' Design Award-winning creation represents a significant advancement in playing card design, featuring an interactive packaging system that transforms the traditional concept of playing cards into displayable art pieces. The design incorporates sophisticated elements including gold foiling and embossing throughout the series, with pleated linen embossing textures inspired by medieval knight uniforms. The packaging design system allows for multiple display configurations, enabling collectors to create various visual arrangements and own a piece of historical significance. The cards feature detailed illustrations based on historical figures, with Jokers incorporating authentic representations of the King's seal, while the packaging reveals family crests and elements of the 1215 Magna Carta itself. The production process involves a sophisticated combination of traditional and modern techniques, beginning with hand-drawn pencil illustrations on vellum, followed by inking, digital vectorization, and gradient enhancement. Measuring 65mm x 12mm x 90mm per box, the design successfully addresses the challenge of creating cohesive standalone images while maintaining the ability to form larger murals when multiple decks are arranged together. This innovative approach to playing card design has redefined industry standards by elevating packaging to become an integral part of the product experience, creating an unprecedented market-first design that seamlessly combines historical commemoration with contemporary collecting practices.
