M. Almana College Of Health Sciences Auditorium
M. Almana College of Health Sciences Auditorium is an architecturally significant educational facility that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional Arabian heritage with contemporary design principles, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious healthcare education space, designed by Muhammed El Sepaey and Hanan Hussein between 2017-2020, features a striking main lobby crowned with an iconic dome and showcases an innovative medical art wall adorned with scientific and pharmaceutical symbols in various languages. The auditorium's design philosophy draws inspiration from the Kingdom's historical legacy and the dynamic forms of desert sand dunes, incorporating local Saudi natural stone for both exterior and interior surfaces, complemented by high-performance glazing systems that optimize natural daylight. The facility encompasses four floors and includes a 1,000-seat auditorium, a 100-seat seminar hall, administrative offices, and a mosque, all unified through a carefully curated sandy color palette applied to marble flooring, paint finishes, wood cladding, and furniture, with natural brass accents for accessories and hardware. The building's sophisticated layout facilitates seamless connectivity with various medical schools, including pharmacy, nursing, and physical therapy departments, through five strategic entry points. The design successfully addresses the challenge of creating an environment that strengthens students' connection to their campus while maintaining a balance between traditional values and modern educational requirements, incorporating advanced acoustic engineering for optimal sound performance in presentation spaces and utilizing sustainable design practices throughout the complex.
