Lovenest Residential House
Lovenest Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully combines vintage and industrial design elements within a 1,500-square-foot Build-to-Order apartment in Singapore. Designed by Andy Tan and completed in November 2014, this Silver A' Design Award-winning project exemplifies creative space optimization for modern urban living. The design concept draws inspiration from the vibrant atmosphere of tapas bars, incorporating their social dynamics into a residential setting while addressing the challenges of space constraints. The interior features distinctive elements such as vintage fancy concrete blocks and Turkish tiles at the entrance, serving both aesthetic and privacy functions. A significant design intervention involves the strategic removal of boundaries between living and dining areas, creating a fluid, multi-functional space that enhances social interaction. The centerpiece of the design is a long breakfast counter with a low-maintenance quartz tabletop, which serves multiple purposes from food preparation to entertainment and work activities. The kitchen design demonstrates particular innovation through its division into wet and dry areas, allowing for practical functionality while maintaining the overall aesthetic coherence. The project's success lies in its thoughtful material selection, including industrial materials with vintage finishes, and its ability to balance aesthetic appeal with practical functionality. The design has been recognized for its excellence in interior space planning and innovative approach to modern residential living, earning a prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category.
