Loud Hailers
Loud hailers, also known as megaphones, are portable electronic devices used to amplify the human voice and broadcast it over a long distance. They consist of a cone-shaped or trumpet-shaped device with a microphone and a speaker built into it. The sound produced by the speaker is directed forward by the cone, which amplifies and focuses the sound waves. Loud hailers are commonly used in public address systems, emergency situations, and protests. The history of loud hailers dates back to the early 20th century when they were first used in the military for communication purposes. They were later adopted by police departments, fire departments, and other emergency services as a means of communicating with the public during emergencies. Today, loud hailers are used in a variety of settings, including sports events, political rallies, and concerts. Loud hailers come in different shapes and sizes, with some designed to be hand-held while others are mounted on vehicles or buildings. They can be powered by batteries, electricity, or even solar energy. Some loud hailers also come equipped with additional features such as sirens, flashing lights, and pre-recorded messages. Despite their usefulness, loud hailers have been criticized for their potential to cause noise pollution and disrupt the peace. In some countries, the use of loud hailers is regulated by law, and their use is restricted to certain times of the day or specific locations.
