Lotus Moon Chinese Baijiu Packaging is an innovative alcoholic beverage packaging design that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary aesthetic sensibilities. This sophisticated design concept draws inspiration from the classical Chinese poem that celebrates the romantic notion of drinking alone under moonlight, where the poet, moon, and one's shadow create an illusory gathering of three. The packaging's most distinctive feature is its translucent frosted green glass bottle, which creates an ethereal effect reminiscent of moonlight filtering through jade, effectively transforming the container into an artistic interpretation of the poetic scene. The design incorporates a thoughtfully crafted illustration of Li Bai, the renowned Tang Dynasty poet, raising his cup to the moon, visible through the transparent vessel, while his shadow appears on the opposite side, creating a multi-dimensional visual narrative that engages the consumer in the poetic experience. The bottle's dimensions of 140mm x 140mm x 260mm are carefully calculated to achieve optimal proportions, while the innovative cap design serves a dual purpose, functioning as an incense holder after its primary use, thereby extending the product's lifecycle and enhancing the traditional Chinese ritual aspects of the design. Created by a team led by Creative Director Yingsong Chen, with contributions from illustrators and 3D artists, this packaging design, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, exemplifies the successful fusion of cultural storytelling, sustainable design principles, and functional innovation in contemporary packaging design.
