Longdong Fire Station is an innovative architectural project that exemplifies modern fire station design through its sophisticated integration of form and function. Located in the Longgang District of Shenzhen, this level-1 fire station features a distinctive concentrated layout and encompasses a plot area of 5,468.3 square meters with a gross floor area of 5,062.93 square meters. The complex consists of a three-story operation building reaching 13.8 meters in height and a seven-story training tower extending to 35 meters, designed to accommodate eight fire trucks through an efficient inner courtyard-style route. The architectural composition demonstrates remarkable attention to environmental considerations, incorporating energy-efficient features such as Low-E glass, thermal mortar, and a comprehensive rainwater utilization system. The building's white sculptural form symbolically represents the strength and readiness of firefighters while addressing practical challenges posed by its trapezoidal site. The spatial organization follows a logical progression, with the first floor housing the fire garage, main entrance, hall, and canteen, while the second floor contains duty preparation rooms and living quarters, and the upper floors accommodate operation and auxiliary spaces. The design, which won a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, showcases innovative solutions for urban fire stations through its integration of standardized design principles, sustainable features, and thoughtful consideration of firefighters' daily needs and operational requirements.
