Living The Noom Housing
Living The Noom Housing is an innovative architectural project that exemplifies sustainable urban living through its comprehensive approach to wellness, environmental responsibility, and flexible design. This groundbreaking residential development, which earned the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, represents a paradigm shift in contemporary housing solutions. The project is structured around three fundamental principles: Wellness Living, Sustainability, and Flexible Living, manifesting through three five-story buildings that occupy only 30% of their 2,046-square-meter lot, preserving existing vegetation while restoring 2,500 square meters through green roofs and facades. The development features apartments ranging from 60 to 120 square meters, offering flexible configurations of one to three bedrooms within open-plan layouts that can be adapted to diverse resident needs. Its innovative design incorporates advanced bioclimatic and sustainable strategies, including rainwater harvesting, wastewater separation, wetland greywater treatment, biodigesters, and strategic vegetation placement to combat pollution and reduce the Heat Island effect. Through sophisticated digital simulation and implementation of solar technologies, the project achieves remarkable 85% energy savings. The development's ground floor houses communal amenities accessible to all residents, while the fifth floor features urban gardens where residents can grow their own food, fostering a community centered around health, environmental consciousness, and sustainable living practices. The structure employs a concrete framework complemented by an independent bamboo facade, demonstrating an innovative fusion of traditional and contemporary building materials while addressing crucial aspects of modern urban development including air quality, water management, natural light optimization, and community engagement.
