Lily Nails Salon Salon is an innovative interior design project that revolutionizes the traditional nail salon concept through its minimalist and biophilic approach, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. Located in Beijing's U Town Mall, this 66-square-meter space reimagines the conventional salon environment by deliberately moving away from excessive decorative elements typically associated with nail salons, instead creating a serene, garden-like atmosphere that prioritizes customer comfort and social interaction. The design's centerpiece is an elegant helical structure crafted from 8mm thick white perforated steel plate, which gracefully curves through the space, creating a natural flow from the mall corridor into the salon interior. This architectural element ingeniously delineates different functional zones while maintaining visual continuity throughout the space. The innovative seating arrangement accommodates six customers in a configuration that facilitates social interaction, departing from the traditional linear layout of nail salons. The integration of a vertical green wall serves as both a visual anchor and a vital element that infuses the space with natural vitality, while LED light film combined with the spiral steel plate creates soft, uniform illumination throughout. The thoughtful material palette, including perforated steel plate, cement paint, and living plant walls, contributes to the space's contemporary aesthetic while supporting its functional requirements. This design, completed between January and June 2016, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning that successfully balances aesthetic appeal with practical functionality, creating an environment that transforms the conventional nail salon experience into a sophisticated, nature-inspired retreat.
