Light Mosaic Apartment House

Light Mosaic Apartment House

Light Mosaic Apartment House is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates light, space, and materiality to create a sophisticated living environment spanning 330 square meters. Completed in December 2018 in Taichung City, Taiwan, this innovative design employs a warm, light gray palette as the foundational element for both ceiling and floor treatments, establishing a sense of visual continuity and stability throughout the space. The design's distinctive feature lies in its thoughtful interplay between void and solid elements, particularly evident in the colonnade's rhythmic alternations that effectively break up the cabinet formations. The project showcases an sophisticated integration of materials, combining wood, metal, and gray mirror surfaces that clad the posts and lintels, creating a holistic spatial experience. The interior's sophisticated lighting strategy incorporates embedded illumination and mirror surfaces, which serve to soften the space while enhancing the display areas for collections and exhibitions. A notable architectural element is the tea glass grille positioned between the living room and entrance, creating an intriguing visual transition that merges with the wooden flooring's warm tones. The design, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, exemplifies excellence in spatial planning through its seamless integration of structural elements, including face-column type features covered in pristine white stone. The project's success lies in its ability to transform everyday living spaces into a harmonious environment where functionality meets aesthetic refinement, creating an atmosphere that responds to both practical needs and emotional wellbeing.
