Light From the Universe Cinema is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of cosmic inspiration and contemporary cinema aesthetics. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning entertainment space, located in Shantou, draws its conceptual foundation from the dramatic journey of meteorites through the universe, particularly capturing the moment of their transformation into meteors upon entering Earth's atmosphere. The design masterfully translates this celestial phenomenon into a physical environment through a sophisticated progression of spaces, beginning with a disciplined entrance featuring white wooden strip-decorated poster screens set against stone-like tiles. The interior's most striking element is its dramatic ceiling design, which incorporates massive layers of bronze-colored ornaments that create a spectacular glittering effect, mirrored by complementary metallic elements in the counter design below. This theatrical approach to spatial design effectively materializes the concept of light, fragmenting it into scattered pieces to achieve a dramatic visual impact. The project, conceived and executed by a team including Ken Cheung, CM Jao, and Shanny Cheung, demonstrates exceptional creativity in its interpretation of the theme lights from the universe to the ground.
