Light - Discovering Umbria Typographic Book is an innovative typographic publication that emerged as a response to the 2016 earthquake in Italy's Umbria region, serving as a comprehensive visual narrative and marketing tool to reposition the region's cultural identity. This 256-page masterpiece, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Print and Published Media Design category, showcases the region's rich cultural heritage through a sophisticated interplay of photography, typography, and design. The book features two bespoke typefaces specifically created for the project: one incorporating three different combinations that create dynamic, randomized patterns reflecting the ever-changing play of light, and another inspired by photographic shadows with extended letterforms characterizing elongated shadows. The publication employs premium materials, including Fedrigoni sirio black black paper for the cover at 290 gsm and Fedrigoni arco design at 140 gsm for internal pages, with silkscreen printing for the cover and four-color offset printing for the interior.
