Light Container Residential House
Light Container Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies sophisticated spatial planning through its distinctive cross-axial layout and thoughtful integration of natural light. Created by designer Shu Lan Ho, this 148-square-meter dwelling challenges conventional architectural norms by deliberately avoiding straight lines in its spatial organization, instead employing a cross-axis configuration that distinctly separates the living and dining areas while maintaining spatial harmony. The design philosophy prioritizes functionality over trendy aesthetics, featuring a practical arrangement where social spaces occupy the front section while private quarters are positioned at the rear, all unified through carefully orchestrated lighting elements. The interior's material palette combines dark wooden covers at the entrance, marble stones with subtle hues on main walls, and elm wood flooring that creates an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility. Notable design elements include grayish-green upholstery that reinforces the natural ambiance, strategically placed ceiling windows that create a dialogue between interior and exterior spaces, and a sophisticated lighting scheme incorporating indirect and recessed lighting fixtures that generate elegant spatial textures. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional mastery in combining functional necessity with aesthetic refinement, particularly evident in its dining area's transparent white color scheme and the seamless integration of tawny furniture with the kitchen island, creating a fluid spatial experience enhanced by multifunctional sliding doors and carefully curated decorative elements.
