Light And The Woodhouse Residential House
Light And The Woodhouse Residential House is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in March 2020 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, encompassing 148 square meters of thoughtfully crafted living space. This sophisticated architectural intervention seamlessly integrates natural light with wooden elements to create a harmonious living environment for a three-generation family. The design, conceived by Hui-Shan Lu, features a distinctive wooden corridor that creates an enchanting interplay of light and shadow, leading to an open-layout space that demonstrates remarkable spatial depth and poetic sensibility. The interior composition includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, four bedrooms, and three bathrooms, each space meticulously detailed with a mix of premium materials including system furniture, Italian glazed stone, and expert carpentry work. The project exemplifies environmental consciousness through its use of low formaldehyde emission materials and artificial glass stones in place of natural marble, while large windows facilitate natural ventilation and illumination. Notable design elements include a pure white TV wall adorned with textured stone depicting mountain imagery, fair-faced concrete coatings in the dining area, and geometric cutting lines on the headboard wall that add dimensional complexity. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2021, masterfully balances modern aesthetics with functional requirements, incorporating sophisticated elements such as Prussian blue accents and gray mirrors to achieve a perfect equilibrium between warmth and contemporary design sensibilities.
