Liberal Realms Residential Space

Liberal Realms Residential Space

Liberal Realms Residential Space is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies minimalist architectural principles through its thoughtful spatial organization and material selection. Located in Taichung City, Taiwan, this 90-square-meter apartment transformation demonstrates sophisticated design solutions that maximize natural light and spatial fluidity. The design philosophy centers on creating an uncluttered environment devoid of excessive ornamentation, utilizing a predominantly white color palette complemented by light wood grains and subtle dark iron accents. The space features a distinctive single-axis layout in public areas, which not only extends visual perspectives but also creates dedicated zones for reading and relaxation. Notable design elements include the strategic use of floor materials to define different functional areas, with wooden flooring seamlessly connecting living spaces to private areas. The project, completed in 2019, incorporates environmentally conscious materials, including low-toxicity wood veneers and innovative Lotos plaster, which addresses local environmental concerns while ensuring optimal indoor air quality. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial planning and material innovation. The project's sophisticated approach to contemporary living is evident in its thoughtful integration of public and private spaces, including two bathrooms, three bedrooms, and multiple functional areas that promote both social interaction and personal retreat.
